초록
Warpage and deformation of automotive and electronic parts manufactured by injection molding are often caused by variations in the solidification rate due to mold temperature variations and shrinkage differences due to uneven filling. This problem is especially prominent in products with long flow lengths and thin thickness. Various methods have been developed to mitigate warpage and deformation, such as optimization of gate shape and location, uniform mold temperature, and use of low-pressure foam molding. Recent developments have used micro-cellular injection molding (Mucell), a low-pressure injection molding technology that uses supercritical fluid (SCF) as a foaming agent. This study aims to improve the Mucell method by optimizing the gate location and size and to improve the warpage control of injection molded products with a length of 1800 ㎜ and a thickness of 1.7 ㎜. First, the gate size and spacing that minimize warpage deformation are derived through general injection molding simulation, and the warpage deformation according to the mixing amount of N2 SCF is compared through foam injection molding analysis. After designing and processing a mold using a gate size of 2.5 ㎜ and a gate spacing of 140 ㎜ derived from simulation, a frame sheet metal product was formed using an actual Mucell method and the bending deformation was measured. As a result, it was verified that the Y-axis deformation was suitable, within ± 5 ㎜.
