초록
As we enter a super-aging society, the prevalence of chronic ophthalmic diseases such as macular degeneration and glaucoma is rapidly increasing, and the development of a continuous and effective drug delivery system is required. In this study, a drug delivery device that can precisely deliver a micro-implant loaded with a therapeutic agent to a target site by inserting it into a 28-gauge (G) cannula lumen was designed. In particular, a retention plug was formed using a 2.0% sodium hyaluronate solution with excellent biodegradability and biocompatibility to prevent early detachment of the implant during implantation and induce stable delivery. The formed plug should be easily removed by a controlled external physical force during injection, and should be repeatedly formed at a certain location. To this end, the bonding force between the metal surface of the cannula lumen and the plug was measured using a micro load cell, and the difference in adhesive strength depending on the presence or absence of silicone coating was compared and analyzed. In addition, the drying direction was controlled to identify the influence of the drying behavior due to the Marangoni effect on the plug formation location, and the change in the formation location was observed.
