초록
This study aimed to evaluate the color matching ability of single-shade composite resin (Omnichroma) in non-carious Class V lesion restorations in comparison with that of multi-shade composite resin (Estelite ∑ Quick), considering cavity depth and surrounding tooth shade. Also, the study aimed to assess the color stability of Omnichroma compared with that of Estelite ∑ Quick. The study involved 47 patients and 94 teeth (two teeth per patient), with one non-carious Class V lesion per tooth. Teeth were randomly assigned to two groups: one restored with Omnichroma (OMC, Tokuyama dental) and the other with Estelite ∑ Quick (ELQ, Tokuyama dental). The cavity depth was measured before restoration. OMC and ELQ were applied to each group, following the standard adhesive protocols. Using a spectrophotometer (VITA Easyshade V, VITA Zahnfabrik), the shade of surrounding tooth structure was measured prior to conditioning and the color of both composite resin materials was assessed immediately after restoration. To evaluate the color matching ability, color difference (ΔE00) was then calculated according to the CIEDE2000 formula. The color stability was also assessed after three-month evaluation. The data were analyzed using a linear mixed model. Statistical analysis was performed using R version 4.1.2 (R Core Team). The ΔE00 value of OMC (6.95±2.75) was significantly higher than that of ELQ (4.72±2.53) immediately after restoration (P<0.001). A statistically significant difference was observed between two groups for cavities no more than 1.5 mm, but not for cavities deeper than 2 mm. Significant differences were also found in all surrounding tooth shades, and when the shade of surrounding tooth structure was A4, there was the most statistically significant difference (P<0.001). No significant difference in the color stability was found between two materials. Within the limitations of this study, Omnichroma exhibited lower color matching ability compared to Estelite ∑ Quick in shallow cavities no more than 1.5 mm. Also, when the surrounding tooth shade was A4, the color matching ability of Omnicroma was especially lower than that of Estelite ∑ Quick. The three-month color stability of Omnichroma was comparable to Estelite ∑ Quick
