본 연구의 목적은 영재교육대상자로 선정된 영재 학생들을 대상으로 한 인공지능 기반 교육 프로그램의 효과성을 다룬 기존 연구들을 대상으로 메타분석을 실시함으로써, 인공지능 기반 영재교육 프로그램의 효과를 확인해 보는 것이다. 이를 위해 국내에서 발표된 영재학생 대상 인공지능 기반 교육 프로그램 관련 연구물들을 수집, 분석하여 교육 프로그램의 효과성을 보고한 연구결과들을 '효과크기'에 의한 표준화를 거친 후 전체 평균 효과크기를 구하였다. 또한, 학습성과 영역별, 학생들의 재능영역별로 효과크기를 범주화한 후 각 범주별 평균 효과크기를 구한 후 메타 ANOVA 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 영재학생들을 대상으로 한 AI 기반 교육프로그램들은 매우 큰 효과크기(.92)를 보여주었다. 둘째, 학습성과 영역별, 그리고 학생들의 학교급 및 재능영역별 인공지능 기반 교육프로그램의 효과성을 살펴본 결과, 모든 영역과 학생 집단에게 일관되게 매우 높은 효과크기가 확인되었다. 인공지능 기반 교육 프로그램은 영재교육의 다양한 국면에서 일관되게 높은 효과성을 보여주고 있으므로, 영재학생들을 대상으로 하는 다양한 AI 기반 교육 프로그램을 적극적으로 확대 적용할 필요가 있는 것으로 판단된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to confirm the effectiveness of AI-based gifted education programs by conducting a meta-analysis of existing research that examined the effectiveness of AI-based educational programs for gifted students. To achieve this, research studies related to AI education programs for gifted students published in Korea were collected and analyzed. As the results of this study, first, AI-based educational programs for gifted students showed a very large effect size(.92). Second, when examining the effectiveness of AI-based educational programs by learning outcome domains and by students' school levels and talent areas, consistently very high effect sizes were confirmed across all domains and student groups. AI-based educational programs consistently demonstrate high effectiveness across various aspects of gifted education. Therefore, it is suggested that AI-based educational programs for gifted students need to be actively expanded and applied.
