Abstract
This study aims to investigate the teachers’ perceptions of gifted elementary students from socially vulnerable class who are participating in STEM online gifted education program. A survey was conducted with 25 teachers of students participating in program, focusing on their satisfaction, support methods for online education and opinions on offline education. The results indicated that teachers prefer minimal participation in STEM online gifted education, primarily taking on roles of sharing and guiding students' participation status in the school setting. They suggested to adjust the difficulty level of the content, support students’ computer uses, exchange students' achievements, run special advanced classes for excellent students, and homeroom teacher workshops. This suggests that the role of mentors is crucial in STEM online education, and it is essential to minimize the role of homeroom teachers while developing various offline programs that encourage active student participation.
