Abstract

In the cultural field, there is an increasing interest and business in archiving these days. Cheongju City has been selected as the first legal Cultural City by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a "creative city of documentary culture". Accordingly, various recording activities and recording culture brand business are carried out, focusing on private daily records. Among them, the neighborhood archives project became a new model for archiving village communities in which residents were the main subject of the neighborhood to communicate and find the identity of the neighborhood. The Neighborhood Archive is a community space for each village that can record and communicate not only village resources, but also the traces and memories of residents' lives. Cheongju City is expected to develop sustainability and archiving village communities by operating neighborhood archives annually through the Cultural City Project. Therefore, it is expected to be utilized by presenting the future growth potential of village community archiving, centering on the case of a neighborhood archive in Cheongju
