중국 경유 탈북여성의 다중문식성(multiliteracies)에 관한 합의적 질적 연구

일정 기간 중국에서 생활하다 다시 한국으로 이주한 탈북여성들은 다중언어 사용자이며 다양한 문화를 경험하고 내재화한 사람들이다. 본 연구는 이처럼 특수한 배경을 가지고 있는 이들의 다중문식성, 즉 이들이 한국의 사회와 문화, 언어에 적응하기 위해 어떤 노력을 하고 있으며 실제로 어떻게 상호작용하며 의사소통하고 있는지 등을 구체적으로 파악하여 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 중국 경유 탈북여성들의 다중문식성을 심층적으로 탐색하기 위해 본 연구에서는 합의적 질적 연구방법을 사용하였으며 그 결과 3개의 대영역과 9개의 중심영역, 그리고 28개의 범주를 도출할 수 있었다. 연구를 통해 중국 경유 탈북여성들은 모국어와 자신의 고유문화를 토대로 이주국의 언어와 문화를 전략적으로 구사하고 이해하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 다중언어문화 사용자인 중국 경유 탈북여성의 다중문식성에 대한 분석 결과는 이들의 건강한 남한살이를 돕기 위한 정부의 정책 방향 설정 및 언어, 문화 교육 방안 설계 등에 기초자료로서 역할을 할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to conduct an in-depth inquiry into the multiliteracies experiences of female North Korean defectors that moved to South Korea via China. For this purpose, the study employed a consensual qualitative methodology. An in-depth interview was conducted with female North Korean defectors to figure out their adjustment process and multiliteracies in China and South Korea. The results identified three big domains, nine central domains and 28 categories. The female North Korean used and understood the languages and cultures of host countries in a strategic manner based on their mother tongue and unique culture. The analysis results of multiliteracies of female North Korean defectors via China as users of multiple languages and cultures will serve as basic data in the design of language and culture education plans to assist them in their healthy life in South Korea.
