초록

In this study, porous carbon materials (PCMs) were prepared from polymer core/shell particles via electron beam irradiation and thermal treatment. Poly(methyl methacrylate)/polyacrylonitrile (PMMA/PAN) core/shell particles prepared by two-step emulsifier-free emulsionpolymerization were irradiated with electron beams at various absorbed doses. The irradiatedparticles were stabilized in air and finally carbonized under inert atmosphere. Based on the resultsof the ATR-FTIR and DSC analyses, the optimum conditions for electron beam irradiation andstabilization were selected as 200 kGy and 230°C for 30 min, respectively. The Raman and X-raydiffraction results revealed that the prepared PCMs had pseudo-graphitic structures. These resultsconfirmed that PCMs were successfully prepared via electron beam irradiation and thermaltreatment.
