Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of job-seeking stress and resilience on depression of senior music students. Methods: An online survey was conducted among 125 senior music students enrolled in the music department at five universities located in Gwangju and Jeonnam, Korea. Logistic regression was performed to identify depression-related factors. Results: The average age of the participants was 23.23±1.70 years, and female students accounted for 87.2%. Job-seeking stress was significantly lower in the non-depressed group than in the depressed group (F=-5.223, p<.001). Resilience was significantly higher in the non-depressed group than in the depressed group (F=2.434, p=.016). Factors affecting the depression of music students were job-seeking stress (OR=1.066, 95% CI, 1.036-1.096; p<.001) and resilience (OR=0.925, 95% CI, 0.868-0.986; p=.016). Conclusion: Therefore, in order to prevent depression among senior music students, a comprehensive job preparation program, including positive emotional nurturing, should be provided to reduce job-seeking stress and improve resilience through successful adaptation experiences.
