평생교육, 마을만들기를 통해 공간을 배우다: 공간담론과 교육담론의 연결고리 찾기

최근 평생교육은 마을만들기의 실천과 담론에 뛰어들고 있다. 그러나 과연 평생교육이 마을만들기 담론과 실천을 얼마나 이해하면서 그 접목을 시도하고 있는가의 문제를 제기한다면 그 현실은 초라하다. 평생교육과 마을만들기 둘 다 지역사회를 기반하고 있다는 점에서, 이 프로젝트에서 핵심인력의 역량이 성공을 결정할 수 있다는 점에서, 그리고 지역시민들의 교육과 학습을 중요시한다는 점에서는 같은 문제의식을 지니고 있다고 말할 수 있다. 그러나 마을만들기는 평생교육적 관심을 넘어선다는 점에서 차이점이 발견된다. 마을만들기는 무엇보다도 지역의 공간에 관심을 지니고 있다. 이러한 공간은 지리적, 물리적 공간임과 동시에 이를 넘어서는 사회적 상호작용의 공간이다. 또한 이러한 공간은 과거 세대와 현 세대가 만나고 만날 수 있는 문화적 기억의 공간이기도 하다. 아울러 마을만들기를 통해 형성되어질 공간은 시민들의 공동의 관심을 표출할 수 있는 공론장의 공간이기도 하다. 마을만들기의 공간에 대한 관심은 이 프로젝트에 참여할 때는 기본적으로 공간담론에 대한 이해가 요구된다는 것을 의미한다. 그러나 마을만들기에 참여하는 현재의 평생교육에서의 담론에는 공간담론이 거의 빠져있다. 공간적 실천이 어떠한 점에서 교육적 실천과 연관되어지는지, 그리고 교육적 실천을 위해 어떠한 공간적 실천과 병행해서 가야하는지에 대한 논의는 거의 다루어지지 않고 있다. 따라서 이 연구는 교육담론과 공간담론의 연결고리를 이해하기 위한 이론적 토대를 제공한다.
Abstract
Recently, lifelong education is jumping into practice and discourse of community building. However, if the problem of lifelong education is discussed with the understanding of the discourse and practice of community building and attempting to apply it, it is not easy. Both lifelong learning and community building are based on local communities, so the core competence of this project is that they have the same problem in that they can decide success, and that they value education and learning of local citizens I can tell. However, there is a difference in that community building is beyond lifelong educational interest. community building has an interest in space of area more than anything. This space is both a geographic and physical space and a space of social interaction beyond it. This space is also a space of cultural memory where past generations can meet and meet. In addition, the space to be formed through the community building is also a space for the public sphere to express the common interest of the citizens. The interest in the space of community building means that understanding of space discourse is basically required when participating in this project. However, there is almost no space discourse in the discourse in the current lifelong education that participates in community building. There is little discussion about how spatial practice is related to educational practice and how spatial practices should be pursued in parallel for educational practice. Therefore, this study provides the theoretical basis for understanding the connection between educational discourse and spatial discourse.
