요양보호사과정을 경험한 중년여성의 전환학습에 관한 연구

본 연구의 목적은 요양보호사과정 경험을 통해 전환학습을 하게 된 중년여성의 전환은 어떠한 방식으로 진행 되었는지 밝히고, Mezirow의 전환학습이론과 다른 점은 무엇인지 규명하는 것이다. 연구는 질적 연구방법인 생애사 연구를 통해 자료를 수집하여 생애이력의 과정적 구조를 분석하였고, 이 과정에서 경험한 전환의 생애사적 의미와 일상에서 나타난 변화의 구체적 내용을 문화적 학습의 관점에서 논의한 결과 첫째, 요양보호사과정을 경험한 중년여성의 생애이력의 과정적 구조 4가지 중에서 주도적으로 나타나는 것은 자기정체성의 변화과정이고, 내적 아픔의 진행경로가 가장 약하게 드러났다. 둘째, 평생교육시장에서 요양보호사과정은 일종의 직업훈련과정으로 볼 수 있지만 중년여성 학습자들에게는 자신의 삶이 전환되는 중요한 의미의 변화가 나타났다. 셋째, 요양보호사과정에서 나타난 중년여성의 전환학습은 성찰적 반성과 공유하고 있는 문화적 학습의 작동방식으로 진행되는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 신체가 불편한 노인에 대한 케어를 학습하는 과정에서 일부 중년여성은 자신의 삶에 성찰적 비판과 더불어 관점이 변화되고 전환학습을 결심하는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 이점은 Mezirow가 주장한 성찰적 반성의 경우 무비판적이며 기존 사고체계의 변화를 유발하지 않는다고 한 내용과 달리, Taylor(2007)가 제기한 비판적 반성이 없어도 내재적인 기억과 같은 무의식적인 인식을 통해서도 전환학습이 가능하다는 주장을 뒷받침하고 하는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify how the transition of middle-aged women who have been transitioned through the experience of nursing care workers has progressed and to identify what is different from Mezirow's conversion learning theory. This study collected data from a qualitative research method, a biohistory study, and analyzed the process structure of life history. The first result was a discussion of the specific details of the change of everyday life in terms of the history of life and cultural learning of the transition experienced in this process. Second, in the lifelong education market, the nursing care course can be regarded as a kind of vocational training course, but for middle-aged female learners, there has been an important change in the meaning of their life. The changes in meaning in the transition process for middle-aged female learners involved in the study were organized into changes in perspective, changes in the way life was interpreted, and changes in behavioral patterns, which were accompanied by eight factors: aging, care, disease, body, cognition, study, and relationship. Third, it was confirmed that the transition learning of middle-aged women in the course of nursing care workers proceeded by the way of cultural learning that is shared with reflection. In the course of learning care for the elderly who are uncomfortable with the body, some middle-aged women were able to confirm their reflection criticism and change their perspectives and decide on transitional learning. The advantages were supported by the argument that, unlike Mezirow’s reflexive reflections, they were uncritical and did not cause a change in the existing thinking system, they were also able to learn to change through unconscious perceptions, such as internal memory, without the critical reflections that Taylor (2007). This study can be said to be meaningful because it can reveal this point.
