초록
In the present study, morphological characteristics of henna powder were examined using a scanning electron microscope. In addition, using energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer, the elemental compositions of henna powder, virgin hair, henna-dyed hair, and double-dyed hair with henna after oxidative permanent dyeing were determined. The henna powder used in this study consisted of particles of several micrometers to 0.8 mm in size. Moreover, the particles were observed to have rod-shaped, petal-shaped, and plate-shaped structures. The henna powder consisted of small amounts of Mg, Cl, K, Ca, and Ba, in addition to C and O. Furthermore, the sulfur content of the double-dyed hair (3.48%) was slightly less than that of the virgin hair (4.40%) and the henna-dyed hair (3.80%).
