Abstract
Recently, SMP (Scalp Micro Pigmentation) has been attracting attention as an alternative treatment to address the serious problem of hair loss among various age groups. SMP uses a technique of applying dots resembling hair roots to hair loss areas. The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception and satisfaction of SMP clients and compare it with other methods to minimize the appearance of hair loss. For the final survey data, 293 copies of the questionnaire were used. According to general characteristics, both men and women were familiar with SMP through family or acquaintances, and hair loss area mainly occurred along the hair line. Furthermore, men had oilier scalps while women had drier scalps. Women also were more aware of SMP than men. While people in their 40s had higher awareness and the degree of side effects than those in their 50s, people in their 20s had higher technical, psychological, and intention for retreatment than those in their 50s. Self-employed workers had increased recognition and the degree of side effects than office workers, and working professionals had higher economic satisfaction than other occupational groups.
