Abstract
Our study aims to analyze the skin characteristics of elderly women living alone and to verify the effectiveness of customized facial care services. The study also aims to promote healthy self-care associated with the current state of the individual’s skin by recognizing the phenomenon of skin aging as individuals age. The skin was analyzed using an AI-based digital skin analysis system that applies deep learning technology and skin analysis algorithms. The skin condition was analyzed before administering customized facial care services based on preliminary data. Following the skin care regimen, the degree of skin change was assessed by various factors. We observed there was voluntary and active participation in the program with marked improvement in skin characteristics following treatment. The program, primarily offered when there was a marked reduction in the moisture of the skin and sebum secretion, sufficiently retained moisture and moderately improved sebum secretion levels in the skin. The AI-based skin analysis system that was used before and after the program directly confirmed the degree of skin improvement, which provided the motivation for self-care of vulnerable areas. Elderly women experienced a positive, emotional impact from the stimulation they received when comparing the age of their skin with the average skin condition of others of the same age. Although some treatments, like application of moisture and oil, display short-term effects, there is a need to develop and jmplement customized programs that can delay aging through continuous care for wrinkles, elasticity, and whitening. The domestic beauty industry has primarily evolved as a profit-oriented industry focused on economically privileged young people. We hope more nonprofit beauty care service programs will increase and spread for socially disadvantaged groups, such as the elderly and the disabled.
