소년원 퇴원 청소년의 재사회화 과정에 대한현상학적 연구

A Phenomenological Study on Resocialization Process of the Youth Discharged from Youth Detention Center

초록

본 연구는 van Manen의 현상학적(phenomenological research) 연구방법에 근거하여 소년원 퇴원 청소년의 재사회화 과정의 본질과 의미의 이슈들을 시간체험의 차원에서 이해하고자 하였다. 이를 위한 연구 참여자는 소년원의 입원 경험이 있는 10명의 청소년으로 이들의 면담은 2016년 11월부터 2017년 4월까지 진행되었다. 그 결과 참여자들의소년원 퇴원 후 재사회화 과정 경험에 대한 3개의 주요 이슈들은 ‘견뎌내기, 버텨보기, 그러다 휩쓸리기’, ‘과거와 미래가 함께 숨 쉬는 곳’, ‘불안한 현실 속에서 홀로서기의 가능성 찾기’로 정리되었으며, 7개의 범주와 14개의 하위범주로구분되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 보면 소년원 퇴원 청소년의 재사회화 과정은 억울하고 힘든 시간을 지나 자신의과오를 반성하며 지금까지의 허술했던 다짐이 아닌 내 삶의 주인공으로 책임을 다하는 시간이기도 하고, 막막하고 아슬아슬한 현실 앞에서 주저하고 좌절하기 보다는 현명한 방법으로 다양한 삶의 방법을 궁리하며 자신과의 약속을 지키기 위한 고군분투의 시간이기도 하다. 이제 막 새날로의 비상을 꿈꾸고 있는 청소년들에게 사회의 선입견이나 차가운 시선대신 소년원 퇴원 청소년을 위한 사회재적응 훈련프로그램 개발과 단계별 적용, 청소년의 특성을 반영한 맞춤형 일자리 확보와 현장과의 지속적인 연계강화, 소년원 퇴원 청소년을 위한 전문적인 사후관리체계 구축, 가족관계 향상을 위한 프로그램 운영의 확대를 통해 청소년 권리의 보장과 소년원 퇴원 후 안전한 재사회화 정착에 필요한 정책과 실천의 시급한 변화를 필요로 한다고 하겠다.

Abstract

The study was intended to understand the issues such as the essence and the meaning of resocialization of the youth discharged from a youth detention center in terms of dimension of time experience based on a phenomenological research method of van Manen. The participants for this research were 10 youths who had experiences in entering a youth detention center and the interviews with them were conducted from Nov 2016 to Apr 2017. As a result of the research, main issues were classified into 3 themes, 7 categories and 14 subcategories. Based on these results of the research, policies required for a safe resocialization process and guidelines for practice after youth offenders are discharged from Youth Detention Center such as efforts to assist social readjustment etc. It can be said that securing customized jobs reflecting characteristics of the youth and continuous reinforcement of the linkage with fields, establishment of a professional post-management system for the youth discharged from a youth detention center, expanding operation of programs for improvement of family relationship, guarantee of rights of the youth through continuous consulting and consolidation of education for improvement of selfesteem, the urgent changes of practice and policies required for settlement of safe resocialization after being discharged from a youth detention center are required for the youth who are just dreaming of soaring into new days instead of prejudice of and the cold eyes of the society.
