Abstract
Objectives The purpose of this study is to develop a tea meditation program based on three disciplines, and to verify the effectiveness of the developed program. Methods As a qualitative research method, this study examined the tea meditation program, which provides meditative functions according to the composition of three stages of aroma, taste, and sight by recognizing one's own state of mind, allowing one to look inward, and drinking tea. Buddhist practice aims to realize nirvana by recognizing the anguish that occurs in each mind and self-regulating it to reach the state of my mind in a calm state free from suffering. The basis of such Buddhist practice is the three disciplines(三學 The three general aspects of Buddhist practice: of Gye, Jeong, and Hye 戒,定,慧). the three disciplines is Gye of the system, and Sammae is created, wisdom is created through Sammae, and enlightenment is completed by wisdom. The purpose of tea meditation(茶冥想) in this paper is to gain enlightenment and self-reflection, so it aims to enhance its significance as a tea meditation program by promoting mental discipline through the Gye, Jeong, and Hye of three disciplines, a Buddhist practice virtue. From a Buddhist performance perspective, the tea meditation program, which is based on Samhak, is expected to be a tool to be able to live a healthy life by being aware of one's condition while drinking tea in daily life and developing positive self-awareness by separating from mental confusion. Tea prevents internal anxiety and confusion from increasing by stimulating various reactions in terms of smell, taste, and vision. When the mental value of tea is combined with meditation, physical activation and emotional stabilization through drinking tea(飮茶) can be expected together. As a result, subjective well-being (satisfaction of life, positive emotions) and psychological stability required by a healthy organizational culture can be promoted. In particular, the composition of tea is considered to be a good device for use in terms of mind management of emotional workers as it brings a deep state of relaxation and shows the effect of relaxing tension. Conclusions It is expected that the tea meditation program based on three disciplines can help emotional workers' mental health and well-being.
