장 칼뱅의 기도 신학과 한국교회의 영성적 과제

경건의 실천으로서 칼뱅의 기도 신학은 신학자로서의 칼뱅의 초상만이 아니라, 전체적인 칼뱅의 모습을 바라보게 하는 또 하나의 중요한 단초라고 할 수 있다. 칼뱅의 경건한 기도 신학은 종교 엘리트들의 자기만족적 전유물로 전락해버린 당시 가톨릭교회 영성과 급진적열광주의자들의 신비적 영성을 지적함으로서 자칫 신자들의 영성이형식화되거나 신비적 경험에 몰입하게 되는 시대적 오류를 극복하고, 기도 생활을 모든 신자들이 마땅히 누려야할 하나님의 은총의 선물로새롭게 제시함으로서, 기독교신앙 본래의 경건한 삶의 영성을 회복하게 만든 획기적인 계기가 되었다. 뿐만 아니라, 칼뱅의 기도 신학은 단지 개인적인 경건을 지향하는교회 내적인 영성에 안주하는 것을 지양하고, 하나님의 창조적인 공동체로서의 사회의 회복과 개혁을 지향하는 공동체적인 영성을 함의하는 건강한 목회적 영성이었다는 점에서, 전환기적 아픔 속에 함몰되어가던 당시 유럽 사회에 새로운 활기를 불어넣는 강력한 에너지를 발휘하기도 하였다. 이러한 칼뱅의 경건한 기도 신학 혹은 기도의 영성은 오늘날 피폐해진 한국교회의 영성을 다시 새롭게 할 수 있는 경건 생활의 중요한바탕이 될 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 그리하여 우리는 칼뱅의 경건한 기도 신학의 영성으로부터 한국교회의 목회적 영성, 공동체적 영성(사회적 영성) 그리고 교회 일치의 빛에서 바라보는 통일 영성을 새롭게 읽어냄으로서, 한국교회와 사회에 새로운 내일을 열어가는 유익한 발판으로 삼을 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 신학 없는 영성도 문제지만, 기도 없는 신학 역시 생명력이 없다. 하나님을 향한 찬미와 고백으로서의 기도에 대한 이성적, 학문적 표현이 신학이요, 하나님을 향한 질문을 영성의 통로로 풀어내는 것이 기도이다. 그런 면에서 양자는 단순한 병행이 아니라, 함께 통전하는 방향, 곧 학도호진을 지향하는 방향에 서있어야 한다. 말하자면 신학이기독교신앙에 대한 이론적 표현이라면, 기도는 기독교 신앙에 대한 실천적 표현이라는 점에서 양자는 늘 함께 있어야 한다는 것이다.
Abstract
This article is about John Calvin’s theology of prayer (spirituality of prayer) and the task of spirituality in Korean Church. Calvin is not only a very famous theologian but also a pious minster in 16century Christianity. For understanding his pious theology, we must have the standing point to grasp his pious life. He was a very sincere and faithful Christian in the life of prayer. And he has made to integrate theology as science (orthodoxy) and prayer as practice(orthopraxis) in his spirituality. Therefore it is very important to notice the christian prayer in his theological thoughts. For his theology is on the bottom of this pious spirituality and his dynamic spirituality is rooted in pious prayer’s life. Especially he has understood the christian prayer as the practice of piety(pietas) and made to restore christian spirituality by it. It is the reason for us to gaze on Calvin’s theology of prayer. But his theology of prayer has formed in various struggles with the spirituality of Roman Catholic Church and Mystical Fanaticism. They have made christian spirituality to pull down on the world of blindness in faith and ecstasy for self-satisfaction. Nowadays Korean church has confront with very serious crisis. Although the reason are various, it is the very important point that Korean church has the problems in their spirituality. And It would be diagnosed this case as the crisis theology of prayer. We can do to find a way for solution in Calvin’s theology of prayer. Because his pious theology of prayer could be come to restore the power for christian spirituality as the state of originality in his age. Now we going to see the new visions for Korean church: the Korean church’s spirituality, the social spirituality and the spirituality for Korean peninsula unification.
