이 논문의 일차적 목적은 포스트휴머니즘이 보여주는 새로운 비전을 SF 영화를 통해 사유하는 것이다. 인공지능의 발달로 인하여 도래할 미래에 대한 우려와 기대가 많음에도 불구하고 인공지능으로 대표되는 인간과 기계의 융합은 실제 현실에서는 아직 강하게 실감되지 않고 있다. 오히려 SF 영화들은 인공지능이 인간의 삶을 어떻게 바꾸어놓을지를 상상력과 새로운 표현기술들을 동원하여 가시적 형식으로 우리에게 경험하도록 하고 해석과 비전을 제시하고 있다. 이 논문에서 필자는 인간과 기계가 결합될 때 인간에게 일어날 변화는 무엇인지, 전통적인 휴머니즘과 철학 사상은 이 새로운 존재를 다루는 데 어떤 한계가 있는지를 영화 텍스트와 포스트휴머니즘 이론가들의 작업을 통하여 비판적으로 고찰한다. 또한 포스트휴머니즘 논의의 배경이 되고 있는 인공지능시대가 예술교육에는 어떤 변화를 예고하고 있는지 미래학자들의 분석과 전망을 통하여 논의하고, 이와 같은 전망이 현실화 되는 경우에 대비하여 예술교육은 어떤 방향으로 가야 할 것인지 고찰한다.
Abstract
The primary objective of this paper is to contemplate the new vision of post-humanism expressed through the medium of Science Fiction movies. Although both concerns and expectations regarding the development of AI and the future it will usher in continue to rise, the world appears to have not yet fully grasped the reality of the fusion between human beings and machinery (i.e. AI). In this context, Sci-Fi movies are playing an important role in enabling us to visually explore the anticipated changes AI will bring to our lives based on lively imagination and cutting-edge techniques and proposing diverse interpretations and visions. This paper takes a critical perspective and examines what changes will take place as a result of the fusion of human beings and machinery and what limitations traditional humanism and philosophical ideologies have in dealing with this new development by drawing on the plots of various movies and the works of post-humanism theorists. In addition, this paper discusses how art education will evolve in the AI era - the background of all post-humanism arguments - by highlighting the analyses and projections of futurists and reflects on the direction that art education should take to prepare for the time when these projections become a reality.
