One of the important features for the areas of culture late in the 20th century is the brilliant development of the visual media including film. The rising of the visual media has promoted new cultural environment of these days. In this reason it becomes hard to understand today’s social and cultural environment without any knowledge of the role of visual media, especially film images. Film images were containing their own meaning as composing elements of an entire work. This study found out the way of the connection that individual scenes and sequences of ≪Melinda & Melinda≫ had made the process of understanding the meaning, connotation and denotation, the metaphor of the scenes. The vagueness of the term meaning arises from the wide range of purposes for which it is used. Sender and receiver see different things in the same film images. Previous encounters leave traces which affect the meaning of the images. One message can work simultaneously in a number of different ways, so that in decoding it the audience has to infer connections which may not have been explicit. This is the reason why the analysis of the film images is studied through the semiology.
