초록

본 연구는 구약 성경이 말하는 예언자적 설교가 분명한 성경적 설교의 원형임을 밝힘으로써 한국교회의 설교자들이 예언자적 설교에 대한 오해와 부담을 극복하고 강단 갱신을 위한 대안적 설교로 제시하려는 하나의 시도이다. 이와 같은 연구의 필요성은 예언자적 설교가 역사적으로는 구약성경이 제시하는 가장 최초의 성경적 설교일 뿐 아니라, 현실적으로는 교회와 성도, 그리고 그들의 삶과 사회의 변화를 일으키기 위한 가장 효율적인 설교임에도 불구하고, 목회 현장의 설교자들이 예언자적 설교에 대한 부담과 두려움을 쉽게 극복하지 못하고 있다는 사실에 있다. 그래서 본 연구는 목회적이며 실제적인 면에서 예언자적 설교가 그리스도인들에게 제자도의 삶을 살도록 권면하고 삶의 변화를 이끌어야 하는 성경적 설교의 목적을 성취할 수 있음을 증명하려는 것이다. 본 연구는 윤리적, 사회적, 또는 사회개혁적 관점으로부터 예언자의 역할을 이해하기보다 성경적 설교자의 모델이라는 전제로부터 출발하여 그 전제에 대한 설교학적인 대답을 제시하려는 의도로 진행된다. 이런 전제는 예언자적 설교가 가장 오랜 역사를 가진 성경적 설교임에도 불구하고 교회 내에서 가장 잘못 이해되고 사용되고 있는 설교 양식이라는 문제로부터 나온 것이다. 이와 같은 주장을 증명하기 위해 본 연구는 성경적 관점으로부터 예언자적 설교를 새롭게 이해하여 오늘 우리의 강단을 갱신하려는 목적에 성경적 기초를 제공하려 한다. 이런 목적을 위해 본 연구는 다음과 같은 질문들을 다룰 것이다: (1) 왜 예언자적 설교를 말하는가? (2) 성경에 나오는 예언자들은 누구인가? 그리고 (3) 그 예언자들은 무엇을 그리고 어떻게 설교하였는가?본 연구는 결론 부분에서 예언자적 설교를 무시하고 두려워하는 우리의 강단을 위해, 그리고 예언자적 설교를 설교학적으로 새롭게 이해하기 위해 이스라엘 사회에 나타난 예언자의 역할을 중심으로 예언자적 설교가 설교학적 임무인 텍스트와 콘텍스트 모두에 충실했다는 의미에서 가장 성경적인 설교임을 밝힌다. 또한 본 연구는 예언자적 설교 형태의 중요한 특징이 설교 본문과 상황의 연결에 충실한 형식인 성경적 설교라는 전제를 증명함으로, 성경적 설교가 기록된 하나님의 말씀을 바탕으로 하는 선포된 하나님의 말씀이라는 전통적 설교, 즉 본문으로부터 메시지를 추출하고 설교의 진행이 본문에 의해 영향을 받는 설교를 통칭한 것이라는 새로운 정의를 제시한다.

Abstract

This study is designed to define prophetic preaching as a prototype of biblbical preaching in relation to the prophet's role or performance in society. This is generated by the most basic question related to prophetic preaching: What is prophetic preaching? In order to answer the question, it is necessary to describe prophetic preaching as a prototype of biblical preaching from a biblical perspective because a study of prophetic preaching whose model is taken from the biblical prophets must try to take into account the evidence of the Old Testament. Furthermore, this biblical study must have any real bearing on our concern in prophetic preaching in relation to the contemporary situation of the pulpit in the church history. The intention at the onset of this study, therefore, focusing on a biblical perspective is to provide a basis of a challenging theology of preaching for the renewal of the pulpit today. For this purpose, the focus will be a major homiletical theme, “faithfulness both to God’s word and to the community in preaching,” which the prophet bears in playing his prophetic role as a preacher for the community on God's behalf. If preaching is to be truly preaching of the whole gospel for the whole fabric of the human condition, it should always be tested by its faithfulness to the homiletical task of engaging the biblical text and the contemporary situation. The central theme, faithfulness to the homiletical dialogue between the two, will serve as a determinative criterion for prophetic preaching. In terms of the central theme, the purpose, form, and nature of the prophets' preaching will be explored. There are general questions and confusion about the true meaning, purpose, nature, form, and way of prophetic preaching. To meet the question and to dispel some of that confusion lies in satisfying the following preliminary questions related to prophetic preaching: (1) Why is prophetic preaching appropriate for today? (2) What were the biblical prophets? and (3) How and what did the prophets preach?
