이 연구는 동료 멘토링이 수학 학습장애아동의 사칙연산능력 및 학습 태도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. U지역에 소재한 초등학교 5학년 수학 학습장애아동 4명을 연구 대상으로 하였다. 동료 멘토링이 수학 학습장애아동의 사칙연산능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해서 기준변동설계를 사용하여 백분율로 환산하였고 학습태도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해서는 Friedman 검증을 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 동료 멘토링이 수학 학습장애아동의 사칙 연산 능력 향상에 효과적이었다. 둘째, 수학 학습장애아동의 학습태도 변화에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 수학학습장애아동(멘티)와 우수아동(멘토)의 관계가 활발하고 돈독할수록 더 높은 사칙 연산 능력 향상과 바람직한 학습태도를 형성하였다. 따라서 일선 초등학교에서 동료 멘토링을 활용한다면 수학 학습장애아동의 학습 성과뿐만 아니라 정의적인 측면의 효과도 기대해 볼수 있을 것이라고 본다.
Abstract
This study is designed to determine the effect of a person-to-person peer mentoring method applied to children with math learning disabilities on their four rules of arithmetics ability and learning attitude at elementary schools. The subjects were selected children with the problem in an ordinary class at B elementary school and selected their four classmates as peer teachers. For the treatment of materials, the researcher underwent any changes in the base-line period and intervention stage was investigated to determine the effect of the experiment. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics(M. SD)Learning Attitude, Data were analyzed by Fridman Verification using SPSS(ver 11.0 : SPSS Inc, 2000)/PC+computer program. The following are the findings. First, peer mentoring improved the subjects with math learning disabilities in terms of their four rules of arithmetics ability. Second, the researcher analyzed changes in the math learning attitudes of peer learners through peer mentoring on the basis of observations, a pre-test, a post-test and maintain test found out that all the four learners changed positively. All in all, peer mentoring teaching improved the four rules of arithmetics ability of children with math learning disabilities and caused a positive change in learning attitudes. Therefore, peer mentoring should be emphasized in elementary schools to improve educational effectiveness.
