글로벌 히스토리는 상호 관련과 비교의 방법을 통한 다극적, 다원적, 광각적, 광역적인 어프로치를 지향하고 있다. 이를 위해 글로칼리제이션(glocalization)이나 복합적인 근대성들(multiple modernities)과 같은 새로운 개념들을 끌여 들여 세계화의 제반 현상과 요소들의 상호 관련성과 연결고리를 정밀하게 세목화하여 조사하는 한편, 이를 위한 학제적 공동연구를 지향하고 있다. 그것은 초국가사, 초/통문화사인 동시에 기존의 지역/문화연구의 지평을 넘어선 글로벌 스터디즈의 성격을 띤 역사라는 점에서 새로운 역사교육으로서 효용성이 있다. 나아가 초등교육에 있어서 역사․지리 통합 교육의 새로운 방향과 글로벌 스터디즈의 가능성 및 다문화 교육의 새로운 연구방법을 모색케 해준다는 점에서 초등교육과정은 물론, 초등교사를 양성하는 교육대학의 교양과정 뿐 만아니라 대학의 교양과정에서의 수용이 재고된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to raise the Necessity of Teaching and learning Global History actually in Elementary social studies. Global History will come in two parts. The first is that it focus on the history of globalization. The second is that it is about to study on a global rather than local, national, or regional level. Recently numerous related publications shows that global and comparative historical methods serve the nucleus of the approach to history education. It tends to focus on transnational history, contemporary history and cross-cultural history. Interaction. interrelation and comparative analyses are also good way to do so. It seems to be a kind of connected history as well as some larger human stories. The overall aim is to foster a new scholarly perspective, a new historical consciousness, and a new subfield of history that will have major impact on the recent history education in the whole world. This work contributes to new ways of Teaching and learning History in Elementary School. And more encompassing global history beyond the social science rethoric with place for the social, and the political history which cannot mean a return to the positivist approach with images of causative laws. The goal is to think a macro historical and long-term social development in new ways of global entanglements as well as diversity, under dynamic interactions between the political, social, and the economic, whereby the communicative capacity to intellectualize and mediate these dynamic is crucial. Also this discourse is to open up a global and humanocentric view on the world with a long historical perspective which goes beyond world histories as just a western compilation and accumulation of data into a global aggregate.
