본 연구의 목적은 TPI를 활용하여 예비 초등교사의 교수 관점을 분석하는 것이다. 연구자의 수업을수강한 3개 교육대학교의 예비 초등교사 348명이 연구에 참여하였다. 연구 참여자는 수업 중 자기 보고식 설문을 완성하여 그 결과를 제출하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 29.0 프로그램을 활용하여 기술통계 분석과 각 교수 관점의 우·열세에 대한 빈도 분석을 시행하였다. 각 교수 관점에 대하여 변인의 개수에 따라 성별에 대해서는 Mann-Whitney의 U 검정을, 전공과 지역별로는 일원배치 분산 분석(One-way ANOVA)을 시행하였다. 한편 교수 관점의 우·열세 경향에 대하여는 카이제곱 검정, 파이상관분석과 크래머의 V 상관분석을 실시하였다. 예비 초등교사들은 5개의 교수 관점 가운데 양육형(M = 37.51) 교수 관점의 평균 점수가 가장 높았고, 지식전달형(M = 31.57) 교수 관점의 평균 점수가 가장 낮았다. 교수 관점의 우세 경향을 살펴본 결과 양육형(208명, 59.8%) 교수 관점의 비율이 가장 높았고, 지식전달형(20명, 5.7%) 교수 관점의 비율이 가장 낮았다. 따라서 예비 초등교사는 양육형교수 관점을 가장 중요시하였고, 지식전달형 교수 관점을 가장 선호하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 특히이러한 경향은 성별에 따라 두드러지게 나타났는데, 성별로는 양육형 교수 관점의 경우 여학생(158 명, 63.7%)이 남학생(50명, 50%)보다 우세한 경향을 보였고, 남학생(10명, 10.0%)은 여학생(10명, 4.0%)보다 지식전달형 교수 관점에서 우세한 경향을 보였다. 교수 관점 내에서 신념, 의도, 실행 간내적 일치도에 있어서는 지식전달형과 사회변화형 교수 관점에서 내적 일치도가 떨어지는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 예비 초등교사의 교수 관점에 있어서 다양성을 보여주며, 이는 향후 초등예비교사의 지도 방안을 탐색하는데 긍정적 가치를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the teaching perspectives of preservice elementary teachers using the Teaching Perspectives Inventory. Data were collected from 348 preservice teachers who attended the researchers’ classes. The researchers used SPSS 29.0 to perform descriptive statistics and frequency analysis on dominant and recessive perspectives. Additionally, the Mann-Whiney’s U test, one-way analysis of variance, chi-square test, phi correlation analysis, and Cramer’s V correlation analysis were performed. Nurturing had the highest mean score for participants’ teaching perspective (M=37.51), whereas Transmission had the lowest mean score (M=31.57). Nurturing was the most dominant teaching perspective (208 participants, 59.8%), whereas Transmission was the most recessive teaching perspective (20 participants, 5.7%). Female participants (158, 63.7%) demonstrated a stronger dominance in the Nurturing perspective compared with male participants (50, 50%). Conversely, male participants (10, 10%) exhibited greater dominance in the Transmission perspective than female participants (10, 4%). In the Nurturing and Apprenticeship perspectives, male participants were more recessive than female participants. Transmission and Social Reform exhibited higher internal discrepancies among faith, intent, and action compared with other teaching perspectives. Statistically significant differences in internal consistency for Nurturing perspectives were observed based on sex and region. However, Social Reform showed statistically significant differences in internal consistency based on region. Several insights and implications were discussed in relation to these results.
