학교 노동인권교육에 관한 전문가의 인식과 실천 유형화: 학교 안과 밖 그 경계에서

A Typology of School Labor Rights Educators’ Perceptions and Practices: In between Inside and Outside Schools

초록

본 연구는 학교 안팎 노동인권교육 전문가들을 대상으로 이들의 노동인권교육에 대한 인식과 실천을 맥락화, 유형화해봄으로써 학교 노동인권교육에 대한 시사점과 함의를 도출하고자 하였다. 질적 사례연구 방법을 적용한 본 연구는 학교 노동인권교육을 적극적으로 실천하고 노력하는 증·고등학교 교사와 공공·민간기관 소속 정책 담당자 및 실천가 총 11명을대상으로 심층 면담을 실시하고 관련 실증자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 학교 안팎 노동인권교육 전문가들의 인식은 ‘실용’적 인식과, ‘비판’적 인식으로, 실천은 ‘제한’적 실천과 ‘자율’적 실천으로 분류할 수 있었다. 이를 종합하여 노동인권교육 전문가들의 인식과 실천을 유형화하면 ‘순응형’, ‘절충형’, ‘갈등형’, ‘이상형’의 네 가지 유형으로 도출되었다. 본 연구는 유형간 비교·분석을 통해 노동인권교육의 현재를 진단하고, 향후 학교 노동인권교육의 가능성과 실천에 대한 논의를 제시한다.

Abstract

This study investigated the perceptions and practices of labor rights educators both inside and outside schools, and categorized them into four distinctive types to suggest meaningful implications for the betterment of labor rights education in school. Adopting an instrumental-use multiple-case research on the basis of grounded theory, this qualitative study conducted interview with 11 experts in the fields – 6 secondary level social studies teachers inside schools and 5 practitioners from out-of-school civil communities. Findings of the study demonstrate that the experts’ perceptions on labor rights education was classified as ‘practical’ and ‘critical’, while their practices were classified as ‘subordinate’ and ‘independent’. Given the two dimensional dynamics, the perceptions and practices of the labor rights educators were categorized in the following four types: ‘Conformity’, ‘Compromise’, ‘Conflict’, and ‘Ideal’. The results of the study provide implications for further possibilities and betterment of labor rights education in schools.
