Abstract
This research aimed to analyze the needs for physics education in middle schools. Comprehensive survey questions were set targeting both students and teachers, with participants being engaged through formal invitation letters. The study thoroughly analyzed the feedbacks from 468 students and 283 teachers, determining the frequency and percentage response for each survey question. Furthermore, the study accepted open-ended responses, enabling the capture of previously unvoiced opinions from both groups. It became evident that students were eager to understand physical phenomena they encountered daily and viewed video resources as a highly effective means of learning. Interestingly, chapters concerning electricity, magnetism, and energy were identified as the most challenging. On the other hand, teachers primarily utilized lecturebased approaches. However, they recognized the limitations of a one-size-fits-all and unidirectional teaching method as a primary concern in the current physics educational framework.
