This study consists of two parts. The first part explores two databases that link the elementary school curriculum with domestic tourist sites in South Korea and smart device apps based on the educational content of government-approved textbooks. The second part presents post analyses to test the effectiveness of these apps. The results from the post analyses all confirmed that the edu-tour apps are useful for both education and travel, with the participants expressing their willingness to use them in the future. The edu-tour databases and apps developed in this study can contribute to the reinvigoration of educational tourism in South Korea. This study presents educational tourism databases and apps previously not available to Korean students and tourists and evaluates their possible usefulness in the tourism industry in Korea.
