Abstract
Purpose: This study aimed to establish an analysis model on the mobile shopping behavior of consumers who purchase products through mobile shopping channels in China and then analyze it to verify and expand related theory. The study analyzed customers' consumption behavior and provides useful information to related companies. To this end, survey data were collected locally, mainly in Beijing, China. Composition/Logic: This paper is organized as follows: Section 1 (Introduction) describes the purpose and background of the study. Section 2 reviews relevant theories. First, rational behavior theory and self-evaluation maintenance theory are examined, and the research hypotheses derived by analyzing previous studies are stated. Section 3, discusses the design of the research and the research model used in the study. In addition, the measurement and analysis methods are described. In Section 4, the research hypotheses are tested using moderated regression analysis. This chapter also interprets the research results and discusses the implications of the major results. In the concluding section (Section 5), the overall significance of this study is explained. Findings: The practical value of Chinese consumers had a strong positive (+) effect on customer satisfaction. Social value also had a strong positive (+) impact on consumer satisfaction. Therefore, it was possible to interpret that both the practical value and the social value had important meanings in analyzing the consumption behavior of Chinese consumers. Furthermore, the analysis of the gender moderating effect on consumer satisfaction showed that social value did not differ significantly between men and women, but in terms of practical value, women were more affected than men in terms of satisfaction. Customer satisfaction has been shown to have a strong positive effect on both behavioral and attitudinal loyalty. As such, customer satisfaction has been identified as a key variable in increasing Chinese consumers' loyalty to mobile services. Originality/Value: This study analyzed the mobile shopping behavior of Chinese customers and derives implications for mobile shopping, which is emerging as the largest distribution channel based on smartphones, through the dimension of consumption value extracted from rational behavior theory and self-evaluation maintenance theory. In this regard, the originality and value of the study can be recognized.
