한국 교회음악에서 성경에 기록된 송영(doxology)의 쓰임새 및 그 용어의 문제점에 대한 연구

본 연구에서는 성경에 기록된 송영 문구가 한국의 교회음악, 특히 개신교 교회음악과 천주교 교회음악에서 어떻게 쓰였는지, 그리고 독솔로지라는 용어가 각각 다르게 번역되어 사용되고 있는바 여기에는 어떠한 문제점들이 있는지를 각각 고찰하여, 다음의 몇 가지 사실을 발견하게 되었다. 첫째, 하나님께 영광이 되는 짧은 찬양 또는 하나님의 영광을 드러내는 짧은 찬미의 개념이 곧 송영이요 독솔로지이다. 이러한 개념의 구체적 내용은 세 가지 구성요소, 즉 찬양 대상으로서의 하나님, 그 분께 영광이 되는 말 또는 문구, 그리고 아멘이 포함되어야 송영이라 할 수 있으며, 이러한 문구는 신구약 성경에 이십여 곳에 기록되어 있다. 둘째, 성경의 송영문구는 성부 하나님 이외에 성자 예수 그리스도와 성령을 첨가하여 공히 삼위일체 하나님의 이름이 모두 들어가는 문구가 교회음악에 사용되고 있다. 이러한 송영은 한국 개신교 교회음악 중 예배에 사용되는 회중 찬송가와 성가대가 부르는 송영에도 그대로 반영되고 있다. 그리고 천주교 교회음악 전례에서 사용되고 있는 대영광송 역시 끝부분에 송영에 해당되는 문구로 종결되고 있다. 영광송은 성경의 송영과 거의 동일한 내용인 성부, 성자, 성령, 그리고 그 분께 드리는 영광과 아멘으로 구성되어 있다. 셋째, 독솔로지와 동일한 개념을 가진 또 다른 명칭이 지역, 언어, 관습 등 각기 다른 기독교문화, 특히 교파와 예전에 따라 각각 다르게 번역되어 사용되고 있다. 한국 가톨릭에서는 ‘영광송’, 정교회에서는 ‘영송’, 성공회에서는 ‘송가’, 개신교에서는 ‘송영’, 기타 ‘삼위영가’, ‘영창’이란 이름으로 각각 다르게 불리고 있다. 따라서 ‘독솔로지’라는 원어가 각각 다른 용어로 번역되어 쓰이기 때문에 각각의 용어가 전혀 다른 의미로 인식할 우려가 있으며, 각 교단의 구성원들이나 한 분야에 종사하는 사람들 간에 서로 소통하는 데 장애가 있을 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate doxology mentioned from the Bible and then the use of the doxology in church music, especially in Protestant church music and Catholic church in Korea as well as problems of the terminologies of the doxology. There are some aspects about this investigation included biblical verses related to the doxology from the Korean version of the Bible as well as the meaning, the use, and texts of Latin doxology about the Doxology. The researcher found some facts through this study as follows:First, the doxology, which is translated in Songyoung in Korean, defines an expression of glory to God the Father and usually also to the Son and the Holy Ghost. The Songyoung and the doxology composed of three elements such as the name of the Trinity, the words about the glory to God, and Amen. The phrases of doxology are written about twenty places in the Bible. Second, the doxology, which means an expression of glory to God the Father and usually also to the Son and the Holy Ghost, appears at every Songyoung printed in hymnals and at every text of choral work for chapel choir in Protestant church music. Also, the doxology appears at every end of Daeyoungkwoangsong, Youngkwoangsong, and at the end of the Lord's Prayer in Catholic church music. Thus, there is the same meaning in the biblical expression between the Songyoung and the doxology. Third, there are another Korean names which have the same concept as the doxology which is a liturgical formula of praise. However, the doxology is translated in different name; for example, Songyoung, Youngkwoangsong, Youngchang, Younsong, etc. Especially, Korean protestant church calls Songyoung instead of the doxology; on the other hand, Korean Catholic church calls Youngkwoangsong instead of the doxology. Therefore, people can be confused in the different name of the doxology and also might recognized as the different meaning of the word. Thus, there might be mis-communication among people.
