This article attempts to reflect the historical perceptions and political thoughts of Yonghyeon Yi Won, who was originally active in the late Goryeo and early Joseon period. He was influenced academically by Kwon Geun and became deeply interested in Confucianism. He sought to help the country and rescue the people based on Confucian political consciousness and moral values. He tried to improve the operating system of the nation and stabilize the livelihood of the people. Yi Won presented an article to Yi Seong-gye and suggested ten principles that set the example of the times. His appeals show his Confucian thoughts and ideal politics from Confucian stance. He pointed out the problems of the social system at the time and actively applied for improvement. Most of the various proposals were aimed at realizing his Confucian ideology. Based on his Confucian thoughts, his perception of history steadily developed. This can be achieved by maintaining the national operating system in the early Joseon period and playing a certain role in solving social problems. In this regard, his political thoughts are also practically helpful in solving the problems facing the modern state and society.
