Since the 1920s, the question of the modern transformation of Confucianism has always puzzled the mind of the Chinese, and became one of the focal point of debates in the academic world. Modem Neo-Confusianists in particular explored the topic from numerous angles, and proposed their view of Confucian transformation of attempting to move from the development of inner self to outer achievements in the modem society.
