필자는 본 논문에서 고구려의 멸망원인과 한반도 동남단의 변방소국이었던 신라가 삼국통일의 주인공으로 등장하게 된 사회경제적 배경을 밝히고자 하였다. 신라가 삼국을 통일한 데는 정치외교적 요인뿐만 아니라 당해 사회를 지탱하는 사회경제적 요인이 배경으로 작용하였으리라 생각하기 때문이다. 이에 고구려백제신라 삼국의 경제적 특징을 추출하고, 각국이 지향했던 전쟁의 목적과 그에 따라 나타난 사회경제적 현상으로서 인구와 토지의 증감및 그 사회경제적 의미를 살펴보았다. 또한 삼국의 相爭과정에서 전쟁 못지않게 치열한 경쟁을 벌였던 외교전의 양상을 살펴 각국이 벌인 외교의 특징과 그에 수반한 교류 상황을 밝히고자 하였다.
Abstract
The dissertation is intended to clarify the cause of collapse of Koguryo and the socioeconomic background where a minor power, Silla, became the one to unify the Korean Peninsular. There must have been not only political and diplomatic factors but also socioeconomic causes working as the circumstance of the unification of the Korean Peninsular by Silla. Here, I extract economic characteristics of three Kingdoms including Koguryo, Paekche, and Silla, and look at each kingdom's purpose of war and the socioeconomic meaning of increase and decrease of population and land as following socioeconomic impacts. Moreover, this thesis investigates features of foreign policy by examining aspects of diplomatic war at which the kingdoms competed as fiercely as they did in the actual war.
