Abstract

The World Heritage List is to protect a common heritage with outstanding universal value of humanity, which is introducted as the international level protection system. The purpose of this study is to establish landscape management system on Orient House and the moon pool in Gyeongju, which is consistent with UNESCO management benchmarks. In this study the current situation of plants, landscape, ecological capacity and physical capacity have been analyzed. And the supervision and management system of World Heritage publication and the consistency of UNESCO management benchmarks have also been analyzed. Through the study of Gyeongju Orient House and the moon pool's rulemaking, plans and policies establishing, ecological capacity and appropriate capacity, as well as the analysis of the monitoring status, to present the protection management system of Gyeongju Orient House and the moon pool, as follows:First, With increasing tourist demand, because of the limited garden area, must be applied to limit the capacity for tourists, as well as the implementation of nighttime visit by appointment. Second, through propaganda of Gyeongju Orient House and the moon pool's value, to raise the protection awareness of tourists. Third, it needs to build a regular and sustained monitoring for historical landscape. In order to inflect the results of the monitoring, it is necessary to build a database. And through routine monitoring or testing purposes of the public to keep abreast of the status of heritage sites. And also departments should cooperate with each other to protect the World Heritage.
