This paper attempts to clarify the distribution of a Korean post-position eygey when it functions as an animate source(ablative) marker right after the animate source noun phrase. Firstly, when eygey is construable as a goal marker, it is hard to be used as a source marker. Not to mention, the motivation of this phenomenon is to avoid communicative ambiguity. Other than this, eygey can’t come together with an animate source noun phrase when the source is the inside of a three-dimensional space(inside-source) or the surface of a two-dimensional plane(contact-source). Namely, eygey tends to be used with a semantically unmarked source; it’s not used with a marked source like inside-source or contact-source.
