Abstract

Background: The public design system is in place and the need to organize a public design dedicated organization is increasing. In the past, studies have been conducted as a metropolitan municipality in relation to the public design dedicated organization, and data and research on municipalities have been poor. Therefore, the case study of the specialized organization of the local autonomous entity was carried out and it was proposed to form a dedicated organization and operation plan suitable for the local government. Methods: This study is a case study which conducted literature survey and interview with the person in charge. The cases were divided into two types according to the population size. Result: For the case of local governments, the public design dedicated organization is provided with a foundation for installation, is installed in the urban planning section, and has specialized personnel, but is often responsible for business promotion work rather than policy work. Conclusion: In order to establish the basic local autonomous organization, it is necessary to establish the linkage tasks such as landscape, urban planning and outdoor advertising services, and it is necessary to develop the performance indicators to have diversity of work so as to have organizational autonomy , And it will be necessary to link it with the urban regeneration service in the future.
