커리큘럼 분석을 통한 한국 대학의 정보디자인 교육현황 고찰

최근, 정보화 기술의 발전에 힘입어 새로운 정보기기가 계속해서 등장하는 가운데, 정보디자인 교육의 역할이 점점 더 증대되고 있다. 이는 정보디자인 분야는 디자인분야 전반에 있어서도 그 역할이 점점 더 중요시 되고 있다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 이러한 배경을 바탕으로 정보화가 발달한 한국에서는 많은 대학에서 정보디자인분야가 신설 되 교육이 실시되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 한국대학의 정보디자인계 교육의 현황을 KJ법과 주성분 분석법을 이용해 가시화하여 종합적으로 고찰하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다. 정보디자인 교육이 이루어지는 한국의 22개 대학에서 선별된 1010개의 전문 과목을 분석한 결과, 한국의 정보디자인분야는 이론보다도 실기 위주의 교육이 실시되고 있었다. 정보디자인분야는 여러 관련 디자인 분야와의 융합된 교육이 이루어지고는 있었지만, 시각디자인 과목이 압도적으로 많은 교육이 행하여지고 있었다. 주성분 분석의 결과, 대학교육의 방향성은 크게 '직감적이며 사회적인 교육중심', '직감적이며 학문적인 교육중심', '논리적이며 사회적인 교육중심', 그리고 '논리적이며 학문적인 교육중심'의 4개의 카테고리로 나누어 졌으며, '직감적이며 학문적인 교육중심' 성향이 강한 대학이 가장 많았고, '논리적이며 학문적인 교육중심'의 대학은 그 수가 가장 적었음을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
Recently, many new information technology devices are designed with the development of information techno-logy. From this background, the necessity of the information design education has been increased at Korean university. The purpose of this research is to clarify an education status of the information design field at Korean universities. Therefore the survey was conducted with the specialized subject curriculums of 23 Korean universities which have the information design field. The survey results were analyzed by using KJ method and principal component analysis. Main findings were summarized as follows: 1) the information design education at Korean university is strongly concluded with visual design field, 2) they have more classes concerning skill practices than theoretical classes. 3) the information design fields at Korean universities were divided the following 4 types; ‘intuitive and social class’, ‘intuitive and academic class’, ‘logical and social class’ and ‘logical and academic class’ and 4) there are many universities have the characteristic of ‘intuitive and academic class’ and a few universities have the one of ‘logical and academic class’.
