본 논문은 옥션에서 낙찰된 미술품 가격 자료를 이용하여 특성가격 모형을 바탕으로 우리나라의 최근 미술품의 가격결정요인을 설명하고 또한 그동안 미술작품의 특성을 무시하고 작품의 크기에 따라 가격이 결정되는 호당가격제가 아직도 우리 미술시장에 성립하고 있음을 분석한다. 또한 유명 작가들의 작가별 효과(프리미엄)를 추정하여 이러한 작가별 효과가 미술품의 다른 특성을 통제하기 이전과 차이가 있음을 살펴보고, 작가들의 전시회 및 수상 등의 작품 활동이 작품가격에 총체적으로는 그다지 영향을 미치지 못하고 있음을 분석한다.
Abstract
This study investigates determinants of price of painting. The attributes included in the hedonic regression model include the name, age and living status of the artist, the number of works sold, the size, medium and material of painting and artistic activities of the artist. The results indicate the price of paintings is proportional to the size of paintings for western style painting while artistic activities are not an important factor in the pricing of painting. This study also estimates the artist effect in the pricing of painting. The results also show that the size of painting is key determinant in oriental paintings.
