부석사 입지의 풍수환경과 좌향에 관한 연구

Abstract

In this study, the reason why the axis of Muryangsu-jeon(無量壽殿) which is deflected from main axis of Buseoksa Temple(浮石寺) is traced with the view of Feng shui features. Buseoksa Temple is a typical one that supports the possibility of setting different building axis based on its location environment in Korean traditional architecture. The front and backward mountains, so called Ju-san and Ahn-san in Feng shui have gorgeous shape and coordination with each other. And Murangsu-jeon is located on the most accurate acupuncture point of backward mountain chain, which was implicitly pursued as ideal temple location. The aspect of Buseoksa is not applied to the principle,『Jirishinbeop (地理新法)』 written by Ho Sun-shin. But the entire shape of mountain chain is, so to speak, Bong-hwang-po-rahn(鳳凰抱卵) which means that the oriental phoenix incubates egg. According to topography environment, Buseoksa Temple is located on the acupuncture point of ground and positively applied to a curved axis. So, by considering various environment conditions, Buseoksa Temple was planned to coordinate with nature, and Feng shui was one of the most important factors to select location, to set aspect and to organize architectural space.
