연구배경: 노인복지관은 노인들의 심리적, 정신적 욕구를 충족시켜 주기 위한 치유환경이 조성되어야 한다. 이를 위해 노인복지관의 공간기능에 따라 치유디자인 요소를 적용하는 방안을 제시하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 본 연구는 문헌연구를 통해 치유디자인의 이론적 틀을 제시하였다. 설문조사를 통해 노인복지관의 공간기능마다 요구되는 편안함의 종류를 조사하였으며, 편안함을 조성하기 위해 색채와 자연이미지를 어떻게 구성하는 것이 효과적인지를 실증적으로 조사하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 노인복지관의 치유환경을 조성하기 위한 ‘환경 및 노인건강 상관이론’을 제시하였다. 둘째, 노인들이 노인복지관에서 편안함을 느낄 수 있도록 하기 위해서는 노인복지관의 공간기능별로 색채와 자연이미지를 다르게 적용해야 하고, 공간기능별로 고려해야 할 편안함의 종류도 달라야 한다. 휴게공간은 여유로운 편안함을 주도록 디자인하는 것이 필요하고, 이를 위해서는 연두계열의 색채와 숲/나무 이미지를 적용하는 것이 효과적이다. 치료공간은 안심이 되는 편안함을 주도록 디자인하는 것이 필요하고, 이를 위해서는 초록계열의 색채와 숲/나무 이미지를 적용하는 것이 효과적이다. 식음공간은 즐거운 편안함을 주도록 디자인하는 것이 필요하고, 이를 위해서는 노랑계열의 색채와 꽃이미지를 적용하는 것이 효과적이다. 결론: 노인복지관은 공간기능에 따라 치유디자인 요소를 다르게 적용해야 함을 제안하였다. 본 연구는 의료환경 분야에서 논의되어 온 치유디자인을 노인복지관 분야로 확대하여 실증적으로 조사하였다는 데 의미가 있고, 향후 노인복지관에 적용될 치유디자인 연구를 위한 기초연구로서의 의의가 있다.
Abstract
Background: The senior activity center should provide healing environment and be able to satisfy the elders psychologically and mentally. The purpose is to suggest a way of applying the healing design elements to the senior activity center according to the space functions. Methods: This research has presented a theoretical framework for healing design through literature research. Surveys were done to identify the type of comfort needed according to each functional space of senior activity centers. In order to build the type of comfort needed according to functional space, this research empirically surveyed on the most effective ways to harmonize color and image of nature. Result: Firstly, a theory that proves "Conceptual Model of the Effects of Physical Environments on Elderly’s Health-related Outcomes" was proposed to create healing environment in senior activity centers. Secondly, the senior activity centers must apply different natural colors and images in each functional areas and different kinds of comforts should be considered in order to make seniors feel comfortable. A space for rest and relaxation should be designed to provide a relaxing comfort, and the use of light green hues and images of forest/trees is recommended. A space for treatment should be designed to provide the comfort of safety, and the use of green hues and images of forest/trees is recommended. A space for eating and drinking should be designed to provide an atmosphere of cheerful comfort, and the use of yellow hues and images of flowers is recommended. Conclusion: Senior activity centers should apply healing design elements differently for each functional space. This study is meaningful in that it expanded healing design that has been discussed mainly in medical environment area to senior activity center by empirical research. It would be a basic research for healing design that could be applied in senior activity center in the future.
