조선조 한시 속에 형상화된 영웅의 의미

Abstract

This paper is, through analyses of Sino-Korean poems visualizing heros, to examine that heros visualized in Sino-Korean poems were symbols of poets’ hopes and wishes and that the symbols were changing in accordance with poets’ temporal situations and changes of their consciousness. A hero is a symbol of notion which hopes and wishes of people who want to perceive him as a hero symbolize; and what kind of life to live and what to achieve are not necessary conditions to be a hero. Rather, it is important whether parts of his life and something he achieved match with people’s hopes and wishes. A life of a person whom people consider as a hero is reconstructed when he becomes a hero. A hero representing people’s dreams diversely functions after he is made a hero. From a stage in which a hero represents people’s wishes and hopes to another stage in which the hero leads people who make him hero, the functions of a hero vary. The most basic among various functions of a hero is to be a hopeful object providing dream and wishes to people. People visualize their hopes and wishes through heros and definitize their dreams. Diverse meanings of various heros visualized in Sino-Korean poems during Joseon dynasty can be found at this point.
