중소기업의 탐색적 활동과 활용적 활동의 관계에 관한 실증분석

본 연구는 우리나라 중소기업의 탐색적 활동과 활용적 활동 간의 관계를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 이항프로빗(bivariate probit)모형을 활용한 실증모형을 구축하고, 과학기술정책연구원에서 조사한 기술혁신조사: 제조업(2008)에 수집된 중소기업 관련 자료를 활용하였다. 분석결과 탐색적 활동과 활용적 활동은 보완관계로 나타났다. 또한 연구개발비, 해외학위소지자 수, 수출 여부, 기술개발자금지원 여부 등이 탐색적 활동과 활용적 활동에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This paper empirically examines the relationship between exploration and exploitation activity. This paper constructs samples of small and mid-size enterprise in Korean manufacturing from the Korean Innovation Survey 2008. Utilizing binomial probit estimation, this paper finds that exploration and exploitation activities have complementary relationship. This paper finds that R&D spending, the number of research workers with foreign advanced degrees, export status, government support for research and development are important factors determining the exploration and exploitation activities.
