초록
Over recent years, MICE industry has considered as an important element of national economies. It has perceived as a significant contributor to destinations and tourism related industries while it has been difficult to prove the perception through reliable data. Especially with the lack of MICE classification, it is hard to measure the scale and the economic values of the industry. In global perspectives, the development of tourism satellite account(TSA) approaches could be used as an analytical tool to develop a parallel approach to measure the tourism connection of MICE industry. In this context, this paper presents the standardization of statistical framework for MICE industry. To this purpose, we conducted case analysis on the industry's classification, and analytical framework of economic impact. The results of this study are as follows: (1)Defining the appropriate definitions and concepts is required to collect data and to be measured the economic value of MICE. (2)To evaluate the economic significance of MICE industry, demand and supply data should be collected, along with using TSA conceptual and measurement framework. (3) To accurately examine and properly use of these data, developing a model for evaluating the economic contribution to the national economies.
