Recently, Chinese tourism has been shifting from package Travel to Free Independent Travel(FIT). The purpose of this study is to understand the structure of the consumption expenditure of tourism and the decision factor the consumption expenditure of Chinese free independent travellers will be analyzed. To achieve the purposes of this study, Multiple Linear Regression Analysis and Tobit model was used to estimate the structure of consumption expenditure and the factors that affects the proportion of the consumption expenditure of Chinese free independent travellers. In general, it is estimated that they have simple shopping tourism patterns centered on cosmetics. The results showed that the return visit rate is low due to a lack of tourism resources and contents available for Chinese free independent travellers who visit Korea for pure tourism purposes. Therefore, this study suggested the need to develop tourism contents that could actively attract Chinese free independent travellers.
