중고령 여성의 자영창업 지속가능성에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구

본 연구의 목적은 50세 이후에 창업한 중고령 여성 자영창업의 지속성을 높이기 위한 전략을 모색하고자 중고령 여성 창업의 생존율 추이와 창업 지속가능성에 영향을 주는 요인을 파악하고, 이를 중고령 남성 창업과 비교분석하여 성별에 따라 차이가 있는지를 규명하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 국민노후보장패널 1차년도 조사 자료부터 3차년도 조사 자료를 사용하였다. 카플란 마이어를 통한 생존율 추이 분석결과, 중고령 여성 창업의 평균 생존기간은 16.6년으로 남성의 평균 생존기간인 20.7년에 비해 유의미하게 짧은 것으로 나타났다. 콕스 비례적 위험회귀모형을 이용하여 창업 지속가능성에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석한 결과, 남성과는 달리 중고령 여성 창업의 경우 창업시 연령, 건강, 창업전 취업형태, 업종이 중요한 예측요인으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 중고령 여성 창업의 지속성을 높이기 위해서는 여성 자영업자의 특성에 따른 차별화된 지원전략을 마련하는 것이 효과적임을 시사해주고 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the survival rate after start-ups and the predictors of self-employment survival probability, separately for old age women and men. This study used Waves 1 to 3 of the Korean Retirement and Income Study. The results of Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that the mean self-employment duration for women is 16.6 years, which is quite shorter than 20.7 years for men. The results of Cox Proportional Hazards regression confirmed that the factors affecting the survival probability for women were age at starting self-employment, health, work type prior to start-ups, industry, while the factors affecting the survival probability for men were different. This suggests that it is more effective to establish different support strategies in order to improve self-employment survival probability of self-employment start-ups of old age women.
