Abstract
This article considered the circle poetry journal Jindalrae published by Korean-Japanese poets living in Osaka in 1953. The circle journal means an organic journal functioning as a general base in the 1950’s. However, changes of Korean- Japanese’ left organization and alteration of route with it affected on the character of Jindalrae. That is, Jindalrae started as a circle journal to organize Korean-Japanese politically, and gradually turned into a literature coterie magazine managed by a few elite poets. However, especially, Korean- Japanese’ lives of the 1950’s represented in the first half of journal reveal Korean-Japanese’ various voices and the characteristics as a unity of ethnic group. To be concrete, there expressed the process that many Korean-Japanese members who had no experience of writing poets became to acquire their own expression through writing poets, and these activities led the formation of communal locality. In these cultural movement, there revealed substantial lives and ethnic issues through primitive voices of Korean-Japanese who had experienced colonization, liberation and war again. These voices were expressed as a form of Korean-Japanese group. In addition, Jindalrae became the public sphere of discussing and criticizing mutual poems, and arguing poetics together. In other words, Jindalrae functioned as a public argument sphere of Korean-Japanese. Besides, it mediated relations with other Korean-Japanese’ poetry groups of other areas. Korean-Japanese poetic groups of different areas communicated and banded together through Jindalrae in the 1950’s. As mentioned above, Jindalrae was the space of creation and public criticism, and became the primitive public base of cultural movement of Korean-Japanese in the 1950’s.
