이 논문은 코퍼스를 활용하는 현대시 연구에서 ‘빈도수’와 ‘키워드’ 추출 결과의 의미와 활용법을 모색하는 것을 목표로 한다. 백석의 시 코퍼스를 대상으로 일반명사의 빈도수, 키워드로 한정하여 설명했다. ‘빈도수’와 빈도수를 바탕으로 시어의 통시적 변화를 보여주는 ‘키워드’를 추출한 계량적 결과를 시의 내용 분석을 통해 의미를 찾는 질적 연구에 어떻게 적용할 수 있는지 그 효과는 무엇인지를 점검하는 것이 이 논문의 목표이자 내용이다. 백석시에서 가장 고빈도로 나타난 시어 ‘사람’을 예로 들어 시적 의미를 구분하고 분단 전후로 달라지는 의미와 형상화 양상을 살펴보았다. 분단 전 백석시에 나타난 ‘사람’은 공유한 과거의 시간, 역사를 통해 형성된 공동체의 일원으로 재현되었는데 분단 후에는 현재와 미래를 함께할 사람으로 형상화 되었다. ‘생업’이 있는 생동감 있는 존재였던 분단 전의 ‘사람’이 분단 후에는 오늘의 ‘나라’, ‘조국’, ‘당’에 감사하고 미래에도 칭송받을 ‘영웅’을 증언하고 자랑스러워하는 역할에 한정된 도식적인 모습으로 드러나고 있었다.
Abstract
This paper aims to explore the significance and application of ‘frequency’ and ‘keyword’ extraction results in modern poetry research utilizing corpus. It specifically focuses on the frequency and keywords of common nouns in Baek Seok's poetry corpus. By quantitatively extracting ‘keywords’ that demonstrate the diachronic changes in poetic expressions based on frequency, the paper examines how these results can be applied to qualitative research analyzing the content of poetry. The study investigates the effects of applying quantitative results to qualitative analysis of poetic content. Taking the most frequent term ‘사람’ (‘person/people’) in Baek Seok's poetry as an example, the paper distinguishes poetic meanings and examines the changes in meaning and imagery before and after the division of Korea. Before the division, ‘사람’ (‘person/people’) in Baek Seok's poetry was depicted as a vibrant presence, symbolizing a member of the community shaped through shared past times and history. However, after the division, there was a shift in its meaning. The focus shifted towards the present rather than the past or history, with people being portrayed as being grateful to today's ‘country,’ ‘homeland,’ and ‘party,’ and looking towards a future where they are celebrated as ‘heroes.’
