物學의 起點, 동중서 철학의 변증적 사유: 一氣、感應、民主 개념을 중심으로

漢初 동중서 시대는 중국사상 각 분야에서 최초의 본격적 팽창을 구가하던 시대였다. 이 시대의 특징은 물질생산 역량의 제고, 황권의 강화, 그리고 민족적 통합으로 요약 가능 하다. 이러한 시대적 요청에 따라 보다 정밀한 과학 정신을 구가했으며, 통치권을 강화하 기 위해서는 일정 정도의 민주 의식의 선양이 필요했다. 또한 사회적 안정을 위해 대일통 의 철학 체계를 만들게 되었다. 본 논문은 동중서 사상의 요체를 ‘물학(物學)’이라고 칭할 것이다. 왜냐하면 그의 논리는 과학 정신과 태도로 우주 사회 현상을 해석하려 했기 때문 이다. 그 철학 체계는 오늘날로 치면 강력한 변증유물론적 색채를 지닌다. 천지인을 하나 의 동일한 형태의 氣(物)로 형성된 실체로 파악하고 있으며 이를 통해 사물과 사건을 객 관적으로 파악할 수 있다고 본 것이다. 천지인을 동렬에 놓는 철학적 체계를 세운 동중서 의 가설은 당시까지 어느 누구도 상상할 수 없었던 대범한 가설이다. 그리고 그 이면에는 과학적 태도로 사회 현상을 파악하는 동중서 나름의 과학 정신이 깔려 있다.
Abstract
Dongzhongshu（董仲舒）'s era of the beginning of Han Dynasty was the most expanded time in all areas in the history of China. The era demanded raising the capacity of productivity, strengthening the authority of king, and integrating a social-racial unity. Thus, a precise scientific mind naturally came out, a democratic mood was exalted to strengthen the military power, the unified idea was made to stabilize the society, and a coherent philosophy eventually appeared. Hence, this thesis calls the thought of Dongzhongshu(董仲舒）a materialism as his logic interpreted social/cosmic phenomena with scientific mind and view. The system of his philosophy was constructed on thorough dialectical materialism. He considered all humans as a reality consisted of the same shape of energy so that they could be objectively understood. With that approach Dongzhongshu (董仲舒）was able to set a liberal philosophical principle by placing all humans equal. The context that this philosophy appeared was the trend of thought which attempted to comprehend a social phenomenon with scientific mind and standpoint.
