조선전기 관찬 역사서의 주해 방식에 대하여 - 『자치통감사정전훈의』를 중심으로-

Abstract

This article explores the rules and the features of the glosses in history books edited and published during the reign of King Sejong, especially focused on the glosses of Zizhi Tongjian Sizhengdian Xunyi (資治通鑑思政殿訓義, Zizhi Tongjian with glosses edited in Sajeongjeon hall). It examines on the process of making glosses, its relationship with Zizhi Tongjian Yinzhu (資治通鑑音註, Zizhi Tongjian with glosses) by Hu Sanxing (胡三省), and the way of referring to glosses in other history books including Shiji (史記) and Hanshu (漢書). It is true that Sizhengdian Xunyi was largely influenced by Yinzhu in many aspects. However, as it aims to suggest a detailed glosses for full understanding of Zizhi Tongjian, it in most cases modifies, reduces and even omits the glosses of Yinzhu. It also inserts supplements where Yinzhu is incomplete. Sizhengdian Xunyi not only draws a critical apparatus based on Shiji and Hanshu, but also quotes glosses in Shiji and Hanshu in many parts as to the records up to the period of Han dynasty. It is also remarkable that it quotes glosses from Shiji Suoyin (史記索隱) by Sima Zheng (司馬貞) most frequently. It suggests that Shiji Suoyin was regarded as an important text for understanding Shiji in early Joseon period.
