이 글은 조선조 역대 대제학 204인의 명단과 저술을 제시하되, 특히 그간 구체적으로 명시된 적이 없던 조선 전기 대제학을 상세히 밝힌다. 또한 표를 통해 총 136인으로 집계된 문형과 204인의 대제학을 시각적으로 구분한다. 『대전회통』 내 대제학 관련 내용은 18개의 항목으로 취합되는데, 그중 대제학 고유의 역할이라 할 수 있는 독서당 선발에 주목할 수 있었다. 이에 세종~숙종 대 사가독서를 거친 인원과 그들을 선발한 주체 역시 수록하였다. 이상의 작업은 대제학 관련 연구가 시기별·개인별로 분절되어 진행되고 있는 현시점에 종합적인 정보를 제공하고, 향후 연구 방향을 제시한다는 의의를 지닌다.
Abstract
This study presents a list of 204 Daejehak(大提學) of the Joseon Dynasty along with their writings, with a particular focus on detailing the early Joseon-period Daejehak, which had not been explicitly documented before. Additionally, it visually distinguishes between the 136 Munhyeong(文衡) and the 204 Daejehak through a table. The Daejeon Hoetong(大典會通) contains 18 sections related to the Daejehak, and we particularly focuses on their unique role in selecting scholars for the Dokseodang(讀書堂). Accordingly, the study also includes records of individuals who underwent the Saga Dokseo(賜暇讀書) from the reigns of King Sejong(世宗) to King Sukjong(肅宗), along with the authorities responsible for their selection. This study holds significance in that it provides comprehensive information at a time when studies on Grand Academicians remain fragmented by period and individual. Furthermore, it suggests future study directions in this field.
