이 논문은 비모수적 자료포락분석 기법을 이용하여 감귤농가의 경영효율성을 추정하였다. 추가적으로커널밀도함수를 이용하여 경영효율성의 분포가 지난 13년간 어떻게 바뀌었는지도 도식화하였다. 연구를위해 농촌진흥청에서 조사 발표하는 자료를 사용하였다. 분석결과를 보면, 지난 13년간 경영효율성은시설 감귤농가와 노지 감귤농가 모두에서 상승하는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 수입농산물이 증가하는 상황 하에서 감귤농가의 경영효율성이 개선되고 있음을 의미한다. 경영효율성을 순수기술적 효율성과 규모 효율성으로 분해한 결과, 순수기술적 효율성은 점차 개선되는 반면에 규모 효율성은 악화되는 것으로 분석되었다. 하지만 여전히 효율성 개선의 여지는 순수기술적 효율성 측면에 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 순수기술적 효율성은 꾸준히 계속 향상시키되 적정규모를 찾아가는 노력도 병행해야 할 것으로 보인다.
Abstract
This paper estimates management efficiency of the citrus farms using non-parametric DEA. Witha Kernel density function, we depict the management efficiency distribution of citrus farms overthe 13 sample years. For the analysis, we use the data surveyed by Rural DevelopmentAdministration. We find that the management efficiency distribution of the citrus farms has shiftedto the right over the last 13 years in greenhouse and bare ground farms together. This means thatthe management efficiency of domestic citrus farms has increased over the years under thethreatening of increased foreign agricultural imports. We decompose the efficiency into puretechnical efficiency and scale efficiency. The pure technical efficiency has improved as time passesby both in greenhouse and bare ground farms. On the other hand, the scale efficiency hasaggravated. However, there still exists more room in pure technical efficiency to improve the totalefficiency. We need to endeavor continuously to improve pure technical efficiency as well asmaking an effort to find out an optimal level of scale in each farm.
