도시가계의 쌀 소비지출구조 분석에 관한 연구

이 연구는 2001년도 「도시가계조사」자료를 이용하여 쌀 에 대한 수요분석모형을 유도하고 실증분석을 통하여 소비구조를 규명함으로써 앞으로 생산자들이 소비자 지향적인 생산정책을 수립할 수 있는 근거를 모색하고자 한다. 쌀에 대한 헤크만 2단계 추정결과를 보면, 1단계에서 쌀은 서울외 지역에 거주하며 근로자가구이고 소득이 높고 나이가 많으며 맞벌이를 하는 가구의 경우 상대적으로 쌀에 대한 소비를 많이 하려는 경향이 높은 것을 나타났다. 2단계 추정결과를 보면 소득이 많은 가구일수록 쌀에 대한 소비지출은 많으며, 가구원수가 많을수록 특히 남녀 모두 50세 이후의 가구원의 수가 많을수록 그리고 가구주의 학력이 낮을수록 쌀에 대한 소비지출이 가장 높게 나타났다. 쌀에 대한 소비변화는 경제적인 요인과 함께 사회인구적인 특성들과 밀접한 관계가 있으므로 지속적으로 관심과 함께 소비자들을 계층화한 홍보와 적극적인 마케팅이 필요하다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the rice consumption trend and urban households' rice consumption behaviour and therefore to provide the policy makers with the foundation for making policies regarding rice production and marketing. Urban households' rice consumption behavior was analyzed using Heckman's Two-Stage model and data from Urban Households Survey released by Korea National Statistical Office in 2001. From the results of the first stage estimation by probit model, households with higher income, old householders, or two-paycheck couple tended to consume more rice while labourer households residing in Seoul, having their own houses or cars consume less rice. Households with more expenditures for eating-out tended to consume less rice. The results from the second stage estimation suggested that households with higher income and larger family tended to consume more rice, especially, households with more family member of age above 50 expended most for rice. In addition, Households with householders of college graduate or above tended to consume less rice than those of highschool graduate.
